Jenna here... and ahh... Status Quo...the denim-clad, legendary rock and rollers who stormed the charts (22 UK Top 10 hit singles, 415 weeks in the UK British Charts and 32 albums in the top 10), opened Live Aid, sold over 118 million records, and won the hearts of so many. And yes, I'm not ashamed to say that I still dance to 'Down Down' in my kitchen!!
Well, the inimitable Francis Rossi started the band with Alan Lancaster back in 1962, and this year, Francis is undertaking a huge solo tour with 64 dates across the UK.
The Somerset tour dates to look out for on the 'Francis Rossi's songs from the Status Quo songbook and more' are 12th April at the McMillan Theatre, Bridgwater (now sold out) and June 4th at Westlands Yeovil (Tickets avialable here)
I caught up with Francis ahead of it all, and we talked about so much... from his love of music as a child, to starting the band and meeting Rick, the ups and downs of their friendship, Live Aid, the effects of drugs and alcohol on Francis, and looking to the future with the new tour.
It's a funny, refreshingly honest, heartwarming conversation, with colourful stories (and some colourful language :)).
It really shows what a thoughtful, fun and fascinating person Francis is and the new tour will definitely be something special.
